Mar Carrascosa Agustín
Mar Carrascosa Agustín was born on May 12, 1999 in Valencia. Since she was very little she has always shown an interest in painting and drawing. She always participated in school competitions and also she went to the extra-school painting where she developed her skills related to art. From the age of 12, she began to go to art academies where she taught her the basic notions of proportions and the different techniques, going from charcoal to oil. She is currently in her fourth degree in Fine Arts at the Polytechnic University of Valencia at the Faculty of San Carles. It was not until the third year that she began to feel comfortable with the jobs she did. She began to work on abstraction from the theoretical base, studying the maximum references of the contemporary art scene and also of the current one. Influenced by artists and theorists such as Henry Matisse, Josef Albers, Piero Manzoni, Malevich, Rothko and Carla Caselles, she has been discovering aspects that she has been able to use in a certain way in her proposals as a visual artist. She moves in the field of painting and woodcut, always predominant bright colors in complementarity or simply for reasons of interactivity. Being a contemporary artist opens her possibilities of expression to a very wide variety of mediums with which she feels comfortable and she is not afraid to take risks or experiment. Her training in different areas of knowledge allows her a multidisciplinary vision of the problems that she addresses in her work.
