Project Description
Curtain on the beach
Curtain in the beach talks about the dichotomies mind: body, culture: nature, man: woman, public: private etc that structure and limit the modern city. Now leaving home is more than ever a shock that brings us a feeling of alertness, of danger. But is it a useful feeling in open spaces? Why not make the public space more intimate and inhabit it, with affection.
The curtains set another type of boundary, the curtains create a space from which you can easily enter and exit. It is a transparent and open space through which we can see and be seen. Caring for each other and dismantling dichotomies is a form of political resistance to the city’s frantic pace, anonymity and day-to-day violence.
