Project Description
Defend the neighborhood
I work mainly in waiting spaces, places where the viewer is more likely to pay attention to the work. These spaces are the announcements that can be found both at bus stops and at metro stops. I replace, therefore, the original advertisement with a poster with a plain color, white or black, accompanied by a text, with colors such as black, white, and red, whose meaning seeks to achieve a point of awareness to collaborate with the trade local.
The place chosen personally is ideal, since the people who usually take public transport are the people who mainly acquire or have a low income, such as employees or heads of small companies, who are the ones to whom this work is directed. The people who rule, the businessmen of great importance do not take public transport. This is also a work that stands against them.
During the pandemic, many of these local businesses have had to close their doors, losing both their jobs and their main sources of income, but having to continue to bear the costs. I therefore propose a joint union to support these small locals instead of favoring the large capitalist elites, since as the famous revolutionary phrase says: “Only the people save the people.”
