Project Description
Pandemic Seat
A bench is a seat, with or without a back, on which two or more people can sit according to the RAE. During the pandemic, especially after coming out of confinement, consumer leisure: bars, cinemas, shops, etc., were closed. People gathered in the streets, in the open air. The pavements, parks and open spaces witnessed the first encounters between acquaintances. And we searched among these spaces for places to hang out. Benches became very important during this stage of the pandemic, but also other kinds of spaces, which we recontextualized and turned into seats, into benches: pavement kerbs, stairs, railings, etc., were new meeting places after the stage of confinement, pandemic seats that we invented in this new city.
