ANTIBODY TEST

These tests do not identify the presence of SARS-CoV-2 in human organisms, but rather the antibodies produced by our body to defend itself against the virus. Therefore, their main purpose is to identify past SARS-CoV-2 infection, even in people who never had symptoms. These tests are performed in the late stages of infection, when our body has already had time to generate antibodies, but occasionally they can help in the diagnosis of current, i.e. ongoing, infection.
