I decided to make a poster work to raise awareness about the importance of the public bench in our lives and in the city. It is a frieze made up of a multitude of historical images of public benches used in many different ways, to show the importance and historical truth of the bench, which is more than just a piece of urban furniture: it is an architectural object that allows everyone access to the micro-rooms of the public square. The bench has always existed and yet, today, anti-homeless devices are created and multiplied in our cities, which is a direct attack on the freedom to live in public space. This work could be seen as a small awareness campaign thanks to frescoes, collages like this one, placed near public benches, to try to change mentalities and stop this process.
