Project Description

Mental Health Visibility in Pandemic

The project Mental Health Visibility in Pandemic translates the mental health questions and statistics during the pandemic to the public space, integrating and personificating the issues this situation has generated in our population.

In collaboration with the studies of Spain’s Mental Health Confederation, this project presents the circumstances and issues of the current sanitary situation. Using illustrations and icons, the statistics are illustrated visually and interactively via methacrylate screens, which frame urban landscapes and, thanks to the transparency of the material, they intervene with drawings to spread a message of social awareness.

The citizens participate directly with the information, both with their experience with the visual side and with the message. It is also important the connection with social media, as the hashtag (#) offers a channel to find information or promote debates and awareness.

This project is adapted to particular city sceneries and generates a message that promotes reflection. The visual factor arouses curiosity and interest in the random citizen who finds the information in the street, and directs the attention to the social issue illustrated, creating interest and demanding a health service that cares about the population’s mental health.
