Project Description

Neighbourhood links

The dome of the Orriols park, one of the most symbolic spaces in the neighbourhood, has a circular shape and no blind spots. It has become a meeting place for the inhabitants of the neighbourhood, an open interactive space located on an essential frontier. In this space, constructive bridges are strongly tied together, supported by woollen nets, affective nets, creating links that – by means of knots – make, unmake, join parts, etc. These links show the consolidation and union of a neighbourhood in the face of the pandemic situation, in a perimetral, closed, circular, isolated space, which creates community fabrics essential for physical and social survival.
Such ropes, ties, create an invitation to popular intervention, to continue these bridges, to introduce more, to reposition them, to reconstruct them, not only in the exhibition space created as part of a symbol or artistic game, but in real life, in the day-to-day life of the respective neighbourhood circles, to create solid, flexible and accessible social fabrics.
